PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR RESEARCH INTO VIDEO GAMING

Programs for 50+, at The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, Ryerson University offers adults opportunities to participate in research studies in the various schools, departments in Ryerson University including other organizations and universities in our community.

The following is an offering from the Department of Computer Science in University of Toronto and they are looking for volunteers to take part in a study of a new online poker gaming environment, to measure effects on enjoyment and engagement, on social interaction, and on learning.

Your Task:
You will be asked to play Poker in our system perhaps with an assigned partner with whom you will be working. You will also be asked to answer questions about your experiences.

Time Commitment:
This study will be spread over 5-6 starting the week of April 19, 2010. We will hold 2 sessions per week, where participants will play on our system for approximately 1 and 1/2 hours each session.

Benefits and Compensation:
It will be fun and you will learn new things. Also, cash prizes of up to $250 will be awarded to participants who have shown the greatest improvement.

Ryerson University, 285 Victoria Street, Toronto, Ontario

Eligibility:
Eligible participants must satisfy the following criteria:
- Be over the age of 50
- Feel comfortable using a computer
- Speak English
- Have no major vision impairments
