We will study the county’s rich and chequered history and explore its new role
as a gourmet food and wine centre.
September 21
9:30 AM We will leave Ryerson for Picton and the Picton Harbour Inn. You will have time to find a casual lunch spot. Later, we will explore Picton, including the many historical buildings, artisans’ studios and shops. The evening will start with a tasting and tour of The Grange of Prince Edward Winery in Hillier.
This will be followed by a “country feast” as our welcome to the county.
September 22
After the Innkeeper’s Breakfast at the Inn we will depart at 9:30 for a day long “Historical Tour of Prince Edward County”. As the day unfolds, we will discover the important role of Prince Edward County in Canada’s loyalist history. Included in the tour will be visits to museums, gardens and interesting homes. Be prepared to be surprised by the many historical gems that are hidden in the tiny county.

We will board our bus at 9:30 for a full-day Wine and Gourmet Tour of Prince Edward County. The Prince Edward County of the 21st century includes vineyards, artisans’ ateliers and gourmet hot spots. Lunch will be at one of the county’s wineries. The afternoon will be filled with tastings and visits to artisan studios. Our farewell dinner will be at The Waring House.

After our final breakfast at the Picton Harbour Inn we will check out and leave at 10:30 AM. We will have time in historic Port Hope to find a spot for lunch and to do some exploring and we will return to Toronto in late afternoon.
