“EFFECT OF MOBILE ON DRIVER’S BEHAVIOUR”
If you are aged 50 – 50+ and are comfortable using a mobile phone, you are invited to participate in a study on the effects of using a mobile phone when driving directed by Muhammad Faheem, MEng Transportation Engineering at Ryerson University.
The objective of this research is to study road traffic accidents that may occur because drivers are distracted while using a hand-held mobile phone. It examines the problems of using the mobile while driving a vehicle and to find an easy and a safety way to send a message while driving a vehicle
The purpose of the study is to assess the effect of telephone use on the driver’s ability to meet the perceptual and cognitive demands of the highway traffic environment. It will require approximately 45 minutes driving a simulator.
Participation is CONFIDENTIAL and participants will receive compensation ($15) for their time and effort.
To register please contact: Muhammed Faheem Telephone: 647 989-8430 Email: muhammad.faheem@ryerson.ca

Brainstorming Session - Mon., Feb. 1, 2010
Are You Interested in Science and Technology?
You are invited to a brainstorming session on Monday, February 1st at 3:15 p.m.
Would you like to see more Science and Technology courses at LIFE?
If so, we are looking for your input.
We've already got some preliminary ideas, such as:
Understanding the Universe: Astronomy
How Does It Work? – Recent Developments in Technology.
Advances in Neuroscience
Genetics
But we're looking for lots of other ideas for science and technology courses. That's where you come in. Come and share your thoughts on these and any other possibilities – give us the benefit of your ideas and preferences. Then we can start developing new courses that will appeal to more LIFE members, whether given by moderators or by lecturers.
When? Monday, February 1st at 3:15 p.m.
Where? Heaslip House, 297 Victoria Street – that's the building where our office is.
Which room? Room 303 (that's the room right in front of you when you come out of the elevator on the third floor – same floor as the LIFE office)
See you there.
