Office Administrator/Receptionist forACT II STUDIO


ACT II STUDIO, a theatre program and creative drama centre for the 50+ age group in Ryerson University’s Chang School of Continuing Education is seeking a part-time office administrator/receptionist for its membership.

Terms of Employment: Contract position; approx. 15-16 hrs /wk over 3-4 days

Salary: Flexible, depending on qualifications, in the $15-20/hr range

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP but no later than January, 2012

Location: Downtown Toronto

Responsibilities

General secretarial duties including: reception, correspondence (electronic and conventional),filing, dealing with inquiries

Maintaining current database on STUDIO members and faculty and expanding/upgrading database as necessary and/or directed

Provide support to the STUDIO’s Treasurer including basic accounting, day to day banking and interacting with the university’s financial personnel

Provide support to the STUDIO’s various volunteer committees including organizing volunteers for selected administrative/clerical functions, conducting research and establishing contacts

Assist in organizing and running various STUDIO events and performances

Provide some support to the STUDIO’s Artistic Director


Skill Requirements

Minimum 2-3 years in a similar capacity

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications with particular skill in database management programs

Familiarity with office equipment

Ability to work independently, a self starter capable of identifying potential improvements to existing processes

Strong organizational and people skills

Prior experience working/interacting with a similar demographic group
