NO PARKING ON VICTORIA STREET

It is important to note that the signage on Victoria Street does not permit disability sticker parking; Bond and Gould Streets do.

Toronto Police Service and the Parking Authority have alerted Ryerson that there will be increased tagging and towing of vehicles parked illegally on Victoria Street between Gould and Dundas Streets.

The extra vigilance is the result of concerns for public safety.

Spring 2011 Session >> To all potential moderators

This notice is for those of you who think you might like to volunteer to lead a class at LIFE. You’ve taken our classes yourself and discovered how much other LIFE members have enjoyed moderating their courses. Now just might be the time to try it yourself as the upcoming spring session offers you a wonderful opportunity. Why is that? In the fall and winter sessions most of our courses are full-length ones (8 or 10 weeks). But in the spring they can last from 3 weeks all the way up to 8. So, if you’ve got an idea for a course but don’t think it would fill many weeks, spring’s the time to try it.

Now, if you are reluctant to moderate on your own—well, a solution is a co-moderator who works with you and shares the responsibility. If you’d like to try that, let us know and we’ll do our best to find one for you. Or maybe you’ve met someone else in a LIFE class who would be good to work with – why not ask that person? Remember that being a moderator does not necessarily mean that you have to be an expert on the topic; you just need to be enthusiastic about it. Many courses work well as study groups with the moderators planning and organizing the course and class members doing much of the research and presentations. From now to late April—that's plenty of time to get ready!

So, how about YOU? Can you help us out? Are you ready for a great experience? Read through our suggestions and see if there's a topic that catches your fancy.

Egypt
Cathedrals: Glorious Architecture
Dictators and Tyrants
Extraordinary Marriages
Riel: Hero or Traitor?
Haiti/problems/solutions?
How Does It Work? – Recent Developments in Technology
The Life and Work of an Artist Social Media and Revolution
Richard III: Villain or Victim? (or a villain/victim of your choice)
The Solar System for Dummies
Antique Furniture: What to Look For
Investing in the New World Economy
Obama: A Mid-Term Evaluation
Social Networking: What is it?
Famous Victorians

If you have other idea(s) of your own which you’d like to discuss, that's wonderful. Or, if you’re interested in co-moderating but don’t have a topic, we’ll try to match you up with someone else.

If you’re interested or have questions, please contact me at 416 901-3855 or wall@wallbooks.com and we'll get you all the help you need.

Remember that there's lots of time until late April!
And you'll learn so much in the process. Thank you.
